Fly Tying Classes

There are many fly-fishermen who enjoy tying their own flies. It is rewarding and is considered by many a form of art. It looks difficult and many who would like to learn are often too intimidated to give it a try. The Green Drake offers fly tying classes that teach the basic necessities to provide each student with the knowledge to tie many popular patterns and create new ones as well. Our classes are geared toward the student by keeping the class small so that personal attention is given as often as needed.

Fly tying class descriptions and details:

• A beginner's fly tying course is being offered that will consist of four classes taking place on four consecutive Tuesday nights. Students will learn how to tie various dry flies, nymphs, and streamers.
• All equipment is provided.
• Class size is limited to 8 students.
• Classes usually run from 6:30pm to 8:30pm, but please call us for specific upcoming dates.
• Cost for all four classes is $60.00

• We have a one night fly tying class for smallmouth bass scheduled on April 15th. Learn to tie flies that are most productive for North Carolina Smallmouth. Patterns include gurglers, streamers, damsel flies.
• All materials and equipment are provided.
• Class size is limited to 8 students.
• Call us for specific dates/times.
• Cost is $20.00 per student
